Should Hollywood avoid doing movie remakes?
I saw remakes of Friday the 13th, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, The Stepfather, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Poseidon Adventure, House of Wax, The Fog and Halloween. I found them almost all to be awful remakes. Now there are upcoming remakes for A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Karate Kid. If you ask me they’re a big waste of time and money. Not all remakes are terrible, I like remakes of Dawn of the Dead, The Nutty Professor, 13 Ghosts and King Kong.

If I didn’t know better, I say that almost all film remakes are crappy, terrible and deserve to be tossed in the trash.
Hollywood should avoid doing movie remakes.

Wouldn’t you agree?

Absolutely. Even the ones you mentioned aren’t that good. I think the most despicable upcoming remake is the new Death at a Funeral. The original was released in 2007, and its coming out in March. Foreign films are often remade quickly, but DaaF was British, and thus in English. There’s no excuses

I agree. The Departed is a good remake though.
